Five Hour Bubble

I’m unsure why the pain returned today
I hid the need to admit it and fight
But, when asked for treasure, it’s all I had
The pain from long ago and carried unto this day

Entering a five-hour bubble, I closed you out
In my own world of temporary relief, grey…old
So old, the bygone ages saw folks hide there
A shadow world of unheard voices

Disconnected and recognizing a lack of trust
But my desire’s to be…centered in you
Idol’s worthless contributions, hopeless activity
Joyless giving, mourning’s shadow

Grief is common, shared, understood
Is it enough to say, “I know, I care”?
Enough to know- you’re in it too
Pain, need, self and a five hour bubble
